So Monday was a really sad day for me. I got up early to go for a walk and when I got outside I noticed a big change. Summer is over!! I could feel it in the air. Thee were lots of lights on in houses along my route, I could imagine the little kids getting up excitedly trying to decide what new outfit to wear. Then there were the houses with the older kids (like mine) who were ticked when the alarm went off. Not very happy to have to get up. Not really caring what outfit they put on. Not really knowing, or caring where their classes were. "I'll figure that out when I get to the school" (with 2 minutes to spare before the bell). I know they are not ready to go back, and I'm not ready for them to go back either. I really like having them around. Where did the summer go? What did we do?
Then, the HELL really began last night as we made the trek to the dreaded Walmart for the list of items each of their teachers requires that they have. Walmart last night was as bad as going on Christmas Eve. Every school aisle was jam packed with mothers and kids of every age, with their list in hand, trying to maneuver through the mayhem. We only spent an hour or so,(it seemed like an eternity) and a cool $50 bucks there. But of course they didn't have everything we needed so it was off to Target. We should have gone there in the first place. It wasn't nearly so crowded and their prices weren't enough more to have warranted the pain and agony of Walmart. Needless to say after 2 hours and $60 later, my kids have their supplies. So much for free education!! Welcome Back to School!!

I DETEST WalMart! Luckily, Dorian usually goes for me. Plus the bonus was this year, Courtney's school posted the items she would need during the summer, so that helped a lot!
School seems to start earlier every year, doesn't it? Walmart back-to-school crowds scare me. You brave woman! Gold star for you!
Sorry I have not commented in awhile, I feel your frustration, I too struggled with the Wal-mart back to school shopping. I thought it would be easier as we were in a bigger town, but I guess that just means they run out of what you need sooner!
I love you new background! It's so cute!
I too hate the back to school shopping. I wish the schools could post their supply lists during the summer, then we could do our shopping when the sales are on and it's less busy. I think I am leaning more and more towards Target as well. Walmart isn't stocked very well and the service is lousy lately.
