Countdown to Swiss Days

Labor Day weekend is almost here Hooray!!! There are several reasons I love the Labor Day Weekend. First of all it is Swiss Days. If you have never gone or are asking "What is Swiss Days" then you have lived a sad, sheltered life. Swiss Days is in Midway. It is their town celebration and is always the Friday and Saturday before Labor Day. It is the biggest, baddest, coolest craft fair ever. It is outside in the city park, and there is always lots and lots of fun stuff. Besides the best scones ever. There are some rules that you must obey if you go though, so I will list them for you, if you are a newby:

*You have to get there early. We usually leave here by 6:30am or so.
*You can't take kids (sorry moms, leave the kids home with dad!!, the strollers are a NIGHTMARE).
*If you find something you LOVE, buy it right then, don't say you'lll come back for it later. It may not be there later.
*Take cash, the credit cards take way too much time.
* Make a run through once, and then go through again.
*In between your runs, stop and have a scone, or a navajo taco.
*Empty your trunk before you go so there is room for all the stuff you buy.
*Leave the men home with the kids, unless they like craft fairs, they will be miserable.
*Go with a group, make it a tradition. It's lots funner that way.
*After you are done shopping, head someplace else for a good lunch. Then go home and put your feet up!!

My mom and sisters have been going for years and years. Now for the other reason I love Labor Day weekend, it is my birthday and also my moms this weekend. It is so fun to spend it together. We always get to pick out some fun stuff at Swiss Days for our birthdays that other pay for. That is AWESOME!!
